چکیده
The main purpose of this article is to present how Petri Nets (PNs) have been used for hardware design at our research laboratory. We describe the use of PN models to specify synchronous parallel controllers and how PN speciications can be extended to include the behavioural description of the data path, by using object-oriented concepts. Some hierarchical mechanisms which deal with the speciication of complex digital systems are highlighted. It is described a design ow that includes, among others, the automatic generation of VHDL code to synthesize the control unit of the system. The use of PNs as part of a multiple-view model within an object-oriented methodology for hardware/software codesign is debated. The EDgAR-2 platform is considered as the reconngurable target architecture for implementing the systems and its main characteristics are shown. Predicting ε50 for Lateral Behavior of Piles in Marine Clay Using an Evolutionary Based Approach
Analyzing piles subjected to lateral loads significantly depends on soil resistance at any point along the pile as a function of pile deflection, known as p-y curve. On the other hand, the deformation characteristics of soil defined as “the soil strain at 50% of maximum deviatoric stress (ε50)” has considerable effect on the generated p-y curve. In this research, several models are proposed to ...
متن کاملAN OPTIMAL FUZZY SLIDING MODE CONTROLLER DESIGN BASED ON PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION AND USING SCALAR SIGN FUNCTION
This paper addresses the problems caused by an inappropriate selection of sliding surface parameters in fuzzy sliding mode controllers via an optimization approach. In particular, the proposed method employs the parallel distributed compensator scheme to design the state feedback based control law. The controller gains are determined in offline mode via a linear quadratic regular. The particle ...
متن کاملPareto-based Multi-criteria Evolutionary Algorithm for Parallel Machines Scheduling Problem with Sequence-dependent Setup Times
This paper addresses an unrelated multi-machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup time, release date and processing set restriction to minimize the sum of weighted earliness/tardiness penalties and the sum of completion times, which is known to be NP-hard. A Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) model is proposed to formulate the considered multi-criteria problem. Also, to solve the mo...
متن کاملPresentation of quasi-linear piecewise selected models simultaneously with designing of bump-less optimal robust controller for nonlinear vibration control of composite plates
The idea of using quasi-linear piecewise models has been established on the decomposition of complicated nonlinear systems, simultaneously designing with local controllers. Since the proper performance and the final system close loop stability are vital in multi-model controllers designing, the main problem in multi-model controllers is the number of the local models and their position not payi...
متن کاملOptimizing the AGC system of a three-unequal-area hydrothermal system based on evolutionary algorithms
This paper focuses on expanding and evaluating an automatic generation control (AGC) system of a hydrothermal system by modelling the appropriate generation rate constraints to operate practically in an economic manner. The hydro area is considered with an electric governor and the thermal area is modelled with a reheat turbine. Furthermore, the integral controllers and electri...
